See our cute ball boy Ron!!
It was an excellent day for pickleball today except for a little too much wind. Actually the wind felt great but didn't do a thing to help the game. Ken and I got to the courts a few minutes after 8:00 this morning. Ken was not feeling optimistic about playing as the radar had shown more rain coming. It was cloudy and windy and did not look good. He thought we might get in an hour of playing but that would be about it and didn't expect too many players to show up. We carried only one chair down for the first trip but a little later I had to go back to the car and decided to carry the other chair down to the courts. I told him I was optimistic! There were a couple of puddles on the left court so we got busy and spread them out so the water could dry. Bob T. arrived and we started hitting some balls, warming up. Jan came right at 8:30 and we were glad to see her as we had 4 for a game then. We got in 2 games before anyone else came. Believe it or not.....we had 12 pickleball players today on such a doubtful day!! And we played until about 10 minutes till 12:00. The pickleball players today were Bob T., Jan, Ralph, Joanie, Johnny, Ron, Sharon, Bob H., Lynne S., Anne, Ken and I. And a good time was had by all
(I hope)! Lynn P.S. Pictures were taken by Ron, Ken and me

Pickleball Tuesday 7-28-09
Carol & Johnny
We had a real gully washer of a storm about 2:00 AM this morning.....thunder, lightening and the whole bit. So you can imagine the shape the courts were in this morning. Ken and I arrived just after 8:00 and started working on them. A few minutes later we were joined by Bob T. with squeegee in hand. The 3 of us worked diligently trying to spread the water out so it would dry. Finally when the boss, Ken, also known as the sheik, decided we'd done enough we put our tools away and started hitting some balls. Anne arrived soon after to make a foursome and we started a game. Bob S. was next to arrive. We had 13 pickleball players today...... Bob T., Anne, Bob S., Ralph, Jan, Johnny, Carol, Ron, Sharon, Bob H., Joanie, Ken & I. We missed Pete and Sally today. Also Mike has been gone awhile now. We got an email from him a couple of days ago. He says he should be back playing with us either next week or the week after. I guess the heat was getting to all of us today. Joanie left her paddle at the court and Bob T. left his squeegee. We have both and will bring them to the next pickleball session. I do not have many pictures to put on the blog today as I was slack on my picture taking. Guess I was playing, talking, and picking up balls too much today. Sorry about that. I'll try to make up for it at our next pickleball session.
We are hoping to play again on Friday.....weather permitting. Hope to see you then. Lynn

Steve & Sharon
It was nice getting to the courts this morning and not having to do any mopping. Rain had threatened us but fortunately we didn't get any to make a mess of our courts. The first 2 games involved Ken, Bob T., Steve and I. We started playing at 8:30. John was next to arrive so we rotated him in and me out. The first 3 games ended in the middle teens....way past 11. I proceeded to take some pictures of those 4 players. We had some close games today. At times they were really tense. There were 15 pickleball players today that came out for the pickleball session. The players were Bob T., Steve, John, Bob H., Joanie, Carol, Johnny, Jan, Ron, Sharon, Pete, Sally, Anne, Ken & myself.
We hope to play next Tuesday weather permitting. Hope to C U on D courts then.....Lynn

Jan & Carol taking the net
Well clearly Tuesday is our best day. 16 pickleball players were at Timmons Park today. The weather was great too......cloudy, cool with a slight breeze that was nice but didn't mess up the game. We started at 8:30.....Bob T., Pete P., Ken and I played the first game. During our game more players were arriving...... Jan, John, Bob S., Johnny, Carol, Bob H., Ron, Sharon, Joanie, Anne, Fred & Sally. Ron brought his camera today and took a lot of the photos that I have posted. Thanks, Ron, for helping me with the picture taking. Fred came back to give the game another try. His tennis background really has helped him take to the game. Hope everyone had a great time today. I know I did and we had some very challenging games.
Right now Friday looks good, weatherwise, for our next pickleball match so I hope to C U on D courts then.......Lynn
P.S. We had so many good photos today with Ron's and my shots combined that I had a really hard time deciding so I probably put too many on the post. Hope I'm not boring anyone.
Fred & Bob T. This is Fred's second day and he was doing great.

Bob T. & Ron
It was a beautiful morning for pickleball. The sun was out and there was a nice breeze that also gave us more challenge with serving and hitting the balls. The courts had puddles on them from last night's thunder storms so Ken, Bob T. and I got there and worked on spreading the puddles out so they would dry up faster. Ralph arrived next while we were warming up hitting some balls back and forth. We got a game going then with the 4 of us. We ended up with 12 pickleball players today......Bob T., Ralph, Lynne S., Joanie, Ron, Sharon, Johnny, Bob H., Claude, Carol, Ken & I. We're losing Lynne S. to Colorado and Ralph to Hilton Head next week. Mike is on his big drive across country headed to San Francisco so we won't see him till August.
Hoping to see everyone (that's not on vacation) back out on the courts on Tuesday.......Lynn
