A brief History of the Upstate Pickleball Group

Ken and Lynn Corbett discovered Pickleball at Highland Lakes Community in Leesburg, Fl. in the spring of 2007. With the help of their friends, Ron and Sharon Blake, they started a pickleball group in Greenville in the fall of 2007. Many UPGers have worked hard to keep the group operational, to increase our membership and to improve the skill level of all players. If you read the posts about "The Passing Of The Pickle", you will learn about some of those folks.

The UPG currently has about 50 active players, although many more than that have played with us over the years. The UPG now plays almost exclusively at Gower Park in Greenville where we have access to 5 tennis courts that have Pickleball lines.
