Pickleball Friday Afternoon 11-6-09

We had 15 pickleball players today. It was a crazy day. Mike wanted to set paddles against the fence for each court separately. The jury's still out on that one. We had some new players..... Muriel and Gary. They are very good tennis players and also in our hiking group. They took to the game and played well. We had a beautiful afternoon for playing. The players today were Steve, Ralph, Mike, Ron, Catherine, Dave, Fernando, Johnny, Carol, Gary, Muriel, Dorothy, Bob H., Ken and I. Even though it was on the crazy side we had fun. When we get 16 or more players we're thinking about taking half the group to McPherson Park where we have pickleball lines painted on the tennis courts there. That's only about a mile away from Timmons. We're playing tomorrow morning at 9:00 at Timmons Park. Hope you can come..... Lynn

Pickleball Monday Afternoon 11-2-09

For you guys that weren't there today we had a great time and some fun games. There were 9 of us for pickleball today. Those present were Joanie, Jan, Ron, Sharon, Ralph, Fernando, Bob H., Ken & I. The session started off with Joanie and I playing Jan and Ken. We had 7 players for a while and during the second doubles game Jan, Joanie and I were out so Joanie and I played some half court. Soon Fernando arrived and we were able to have 2 doubles games going. Bob H. came just in time as Joanie had to leave early for work so we still had 8 then.
We're working at the polls tomorrow so Ken and I will be ready to get back on the courts on Wednesday. Hope you all can join us. Please come!! Looking forward to Wednesday..... Lynn

Pickleball Friday 9-4-09

Wow!! We didn't have to clean the courts this morning. That was the first time in a while. No rain lately. We got to Timmons Park this morning and were joined by Steve and Ron. After warming up and hitting some balls we started a game. Ron and I played together against Steve and Ken....... and we beat them. Guess we started off the morning right!! Players were coming and going but after all was said and done I think the total of pickleball players today was 14. Present for our pickleball session today was Steve, Ron, Fernando, Mike, Joanie, Claude, Fran B., Johnny, Bob H., Jan, Anne, Carol, Ken and I. The games were very competitive today and a lot of fun. Claude brought his son, Fran, to try pickleball. He did great! As you can see below I got some good shots of him. Ken and I also know Fran from playing disc golf. Ron is going to be the organizer of the pickleball sessions for the next week and a half. I had a great time and I hope you did too!! Lynn

Pickleball Tuesday 6-16-09

WOW!!! We set a record today. We had 16 pickleball players for the first time. That's the most we've ever had! The morning started out cloudy but nice. 3 of us got to the courts early and cleaned up after the rain that we had yesterday. Then a 4th showed up and so the 4 of us got in 2 games before the rest of the group arrived. The pickleball players today were Bob T., Fernando, Ralph, Ron, Sharon, Claude, John, Carol, Johnny, Mike, Pete P., Jan, Joanie, Anne, Ken & I. I took lots of pictures today and after having my camera for 5 months I have finally figured out how to not lose part of my pictures in the transfer from the camera to the computer. It was nice to have Ralph back today after being out with his NON-pickleball injury. And Fernando came for his second time since last August. He really plays the game well with his tennis background. Pete P. came back after his first time last week. Also Claude hasn't played in a while so it was nice to see him back on the courts with us again. I hope everyone had as good a time as I did today. Hope to play Thursday again. Lynn

Pickleball @ Cleveland Park Friday 8-15-08

It was nice to have 2 new players today..... Fernando and Mike. We met Fernando through our tennis group. And we know Mike from our hiking club. They both have tennis backgrounds so they picked up the game in about 5 minutes. They really proved to be some good competition and a good addition to the group.
We had 8 players today....Steve, Fernando, Bokson, Barb, Mike, Bob H. and Ken and I.
Today was Bokson's last day with us for awhile as she is going back to work next Tuesday. But Barb informed us that she is coming to play on Tuesday with us and we were really happy to hear that. Also Mike just emailed to say that he has ordered a new paddle. We are looking forward to Ron, Sharon, Lynne S. and Ralph returning next week.
